A few months ago, Patricia Griffin, founder of the “Green” Hotels Association – an organization that we have been an Ally Member with for seven years – shared her industry insight on The Refinishing Touch’s blog.
The “Green” Hotel Association’s goal is to bring together hotels and resorts interested in environmental issues, and assists in providing hoteliers with a comprehensive list of how to minimize water use, energy consumption and solid waste creation, amongst other sustainable initiatives.
This month, in an effort to spread environmental awareness and reach audiences with similar interests in cost-efficient best practice renovation solutions, The Refinishing Touch’s project at the BEST WESTERN PLUS The Inn at King of Prussia was featured in the association’s newsletter.
In the piece, the benefits of our furniture asset management solutions – which at the King of Prussia, consisted of refinishing and armoire conversions – are highlighted, helping the Best Western property reduce its total expenditure by over 75 percent. In addition to saving on cost, the hotel also avoided buying brand new assets – meaning existing, well-built pieces didn’t end up in overcrowded landfills.
To see the work firsthand, please watch The Refinishing Touch’s short before-and-after video, and be sure to read the “Green” Hotels Association’s most recent newsletter – covering July and August – here.
