The Green Grading System: public vs. private university research by The Refinishing Touch

National Telework WeekOver the past few months, The Refinishing Touch has compiled research and conducted interviews in order to present our readers with a full breakdown of sustainability among public and private colleges universities.

Today, we are happy to unveil the results. Based on data from the top ten public and the top ten private colleges and universities in the United States, The Refinishing Touch found that public institutions are more active, vocal and resourceful in environmental activities.

With an advanced web-crawl, we spanned up to 24 layers of each schools website to find mentions of recycling, LEED, sustainability and – of course – refinishing. Additional research included phone interviews to determine the availability of green courses, majors and dedicated schools, as well as activities and on-campus programs.
