Hersha Hospitality Trust – a large real-estate investment trust in the hospitality sector – has recently been awarded the 2013 Lodging & Resorts Leader in Light award by the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).
Hersha’s award-winning program, EarthView, is implemented across each of its 48 hotels and designed to reduce energy consumption and boost sustainable practices. In order to be qualified for the award – both this year and last – Hersha had to complete a Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) survey benchmarking and evaluating its standing as a sustainable leader in the real estate market.
